Why are we building this?

Blockset is the result of our learnings and experience we gained while building flamingos.dev. By thinking

fundamentally about how data is stored and computed, and by leveraging advancements in hardware and databases.

So we set out to create a product that is easy to use and operate, useful and performant and reduces overall cloud data

warehouse bills. We want to make data warehousing affordable and easy.

Blockset is ideal for analytical workloads and replaces commercial cloud data warehouses like Google BigQuery ,

AWS Redshift, Snowflake and Databricks etc. to an easy to run, cost-effective alternative.

It is our belief that many organizations lack the vast data volumes that justify the use of these

large-scale cloud data warehouses. These platforms often come with significant operational overhead and

steep learning curves and high cloud bills. Blockset offers an easy to run, cost-effective alternative designed to

simplify data warehousing while maintaining high performance and necessary functionalities.
